Melanie Lee has 21 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, from a laboratory bench level scientist starting in Glaxo and GlaxoWellcome, through to Executive VP of Research and Development (R&D) and a FTSE100 company plc Board position in Celltech/UCB. Her responsibilities extended to 2500 people.
Melanie’s prior experience was 9 years in academia as a PhD student and post-doctoral scientist with the leading cancer charities of the UK (CRC and ICRF). She now holds voluntary positions which combine her knowledge of industrial drug R&D and academic science, as Chairman of Cancer Research Technology and as a Trustee and Deputy Chairman of Cancer Research UK.
